Hey welcome to the Movie Set Design webpage! I'll start off by pointing out the difference between movie set design and theatre set design. In a movie set design you actually find a real place and house where you film in. In a movie set design there will not have to be a backdrop because it's not one stage like in theatre.
When watching movies, you'll probably notice that most of the time the floor or ground is always wet. The designers do this often to create a shiny effect of light. A good way to practice movie set design is to pause at each different scene and write down what would be needed as props for the set. Also what kind of a place you should film the scene in.
